Drunk driving accidents: chain-reaction crash leaves a man dead

On Behalf of | Mar 12, 2019 | Drunk Driving Accidents |

Driving while under the influence of alcohol is a big problem in Texas. Police forces across the state have stepped up efforts to combat drunk driving. Increased patrols, DUI checkpoints and public awareness campaigns are just a few examples of these law enforcement initiatives. However, drunk driving accidents continue to occur at an alarming rate despite these efforts.

A suspected drunk driver reportedly caused a recent chain-reaction crash in Dallas that resulted in the death of one man. The crash happened just before midnight in the southbound lanes Highway 75. According to reports, an alleged drunk driver crashed into another southbound vehicle. Apparently, this collision caused the other vehicle to hit a wall, ejecting a passenger.

The alleged drunk driver then spun out and struck another vehicle. This caused a chain-reaction crash that involved four other vehicles, reports said. According to authorities, the passenger who was ejected was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Reports said other people involved in the crash suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police arrested the alleged drunk driver.

Driving under the influence of alcohol is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible. When a person gets behind the wheel while intoxicated, the chances of a crash skyrocket. Families in Texas who have suffered the loss of loved ones in drunk driving accidents have the option to take legal action. A successful lawsuit could result in a substantial monetary award that can be used to cover end-of-life expenses and help struggling families through this difficult experience.
